The Swift has consistently ranked among the top ten most fuel-efficient cars in America, and most buy it because it is affordable and cheap to run and maintain. To counter the safety critics, Suzuki has equipped it with dual airbags, side impact protection, and even offering the option of a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system.
The 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, which produces 70 horsepower, is mated to a 5-speed manual, but a 3-speed automatic is available. The Swift seats four comfortably, with convenience features such as a console tray with cup holder, dual front door map pockets and three-point seat belts. Options include air conditioning, stereo system, armrest and front mask.
